Grace N Eden quotes 1 Corinthians 6:19, which describes our bodies as temples. What we put into as well as on our body is important for our health. Grace N Eden’s goal is to create quality skincare made from natural ingredients that best serve and protect our temples. In this post, I will cover a list of widely recommended natural ingredients you should be on the lookout for in your beauty products as well as the one Grace N Eden makes a staple in many of their scrubs, creams, and lotions.

Coconut Oil

It is common to see coconut oil praised for its multitude of cure-all benefits; used primarily for moisturizing, it can also be helpful to remove makeup and can be found in cleansers. Coconut oil is antibacterial, anti-fungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and an antioxidant. All these properties make it a widespread ingredient in the field of beauty.

Tea Tree Oil

Native to Australia, tea tree oil is antimicrobial, anti-fungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory. Used widely in face masks, this essential oil helps with acne, cuts, and burns. It is important to dilute tea tree oil before use.

Grapeseed Oil

Grapeseed oil acts as an antioxidant. Used as a moisturizer, it leaves no residue. Grapeseed oil is perfect for sensitive skin because it is easy on your pores. It can combat zits without leaving you and your skin irritated.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is another ingredient you can find on many skincare lists. Its acidity makes it a good cleanser and toner. Also, apple cider vinegar stops acne and naturally exfoliates the skin.

Sea Salt

Sea salt is a natural wonder in part because of the multitude of minerals in which it carries including iron, magnesium, calcium, zinc, potassium, selenium, and we cannot forget sodium. Though it is easy to think of sea salt as merely a convenient seasoning, the handy collection of minerals acts as a natural exfoliant and is thus used in many natural face scrubs.

Aloe/Aloe Vera

Found in tropical climates, aloe is full of nutritional value for your skin as it is rich in vitamins B and C as well as amino acids, enzymes, and the like. All these healthy components open up a plethora of benefits for your skin. Aloe is antiviral, anti-fungal, and anti-parasitic. Its most common uses are for soothing wounds and burns.

Beeswax

Beeswax is used as a protective ingredient in beauty products such as lip balms. It serves this purpose well as it is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antimicrobial.

Argon Oil

Argon oil is a Moroccan ingredient that helps to hydrate, strengthen, and moisturize skin. It is an antioxidant and is used in beauty products to help combat acne, bug bites, eczema, and the like. Similar to other oils, it must be diluted before use.

Cocoa/Cocoa Butter

Brought to light thanks to the Mayans and the Aztecs, cocoa is full of antioxidants, fatty acids, and vitamin E. It is an emollient that protects the skin but also serves to moisturize and acts as an anti-inflammatory. But, be careful using cocoa or cocoa butter on your skin if you are prone to acne.

Shea Butter

Found in Ghana West Africa, Shea butter is full of antioxidants and fatty acids. It is an emollient protectant for your skin and it moisturizes. As such, it can be put to many good uses combating sunburns, acne, eczema, and more!

At Grace N Eden, Shea butter is used in a plethora of their products. Its natural, nearly infinite uses for the skin make it perfect for many skincare routines. The butter can be traced back to the founder of Grace N Eden’s roots, and serves as a staple and inspiration for many of their products!

These are just a handful of the many beneficial natural ingredients that can be found in beauty products. Keep an eye out for them the next time you are shopping for a natural approach to skincare, or perhaps find a few recipes and use them in your DIY product!
